Welcome Pride of Newark Alumni!!!!

When: Friday, August 25, 2023 - Football game versus Mt. Vernon
Where: Newark High School and White Field
Who: All alumni of the Pride of Newark
Why: To welcome back our alumni for the first time since 2021!

Join us for music rehearsal on Sunday, August 20 from 4pm-5:30pm in the NHS Band Room, physical copies of music will be provided at this time. (Limited) instruments may be checked out at this time. 

Friday, August 25, Performance Day Schedule:
  • 4:00pm Rehearsal at the NHS Band Practice Field
  • 5:00pm Dinner in the NHS Commons
  • 6:15pm Parade to White Field
  • 6:50pm Perform the NHS Alma Mater with the 2023 Pride of Newark
  • 7:00pm Kickoff
  • 8:00pm Halftime performance with the 2023 Pride of Newark (tentative time)

Registration cost: $25.00 (must be paid in advance by August 11 via PayPal)

Additional Information
  • VERY FEW instruments can be provided
  • Those in need of instruments will be based on a first-come, first-served, basis. There will be a small rental fee of $10.00 for those who need instruments. 
  • Please do NOT contact other schools to borrow instruments. We realize this will make it challenging for percussionists and sousaphones to participate in the performance, but we do not want to cause headaches for band directors all across the state.
  • Transportation back to Newark HS will be available after the game, however the alumni band is dismissed after halftime. 
  • Newark City Schools reserves the right to remove any member from participation.
