Current Field
The current practice field has served the band and community for over 60 years at the current NHS location. 
It’s time for an investment in student safety, long-term equipment protection, and a source of pride for the award-winning Pride of Newark Marching Band.

The Current Field Puts Students at Risk
For over 60 years the current practice field has hosted the marching feet of thousands of Newark High School Band Members. 
In recent years, due to a variety of factors, the field has become dramatically less safe for student use - both their physical well being and the instruments they are using. 
Many areas of the field have “potholes” that have resulted in twisted ankles, fallen students, dropped instruments, busted lips, and constant stress/anxiety on student performers.

Project Timeline
April 2024 - Fundraising begins
July 2024 - Marching season begins
September 2024 - Fundraising update to Board of Education
November 2024 - Construction begins
March 2025 - Construction completed
July 2025 - Usage of new field begins!
